Damaged or deteriorating fascia boards can affect both the appearance and function of your roofline. We provide localised fascia repairs and replacement, including associated gutter removal and refitting where required.

Downpipe Repairs and Replacement

Damaged, leaking or deteriorated downpipes can cause water to discharge in the wrong areas, potentially contributing to moisture damage around your property. We repair leaking joints, replace damaged downpipe sections and install replacement downpipes where required.

Roofing Screw Replacement

Loose, deteriorated or rusted roofing screws can compromise the integrity of your roof's fixings and contribute to leaks. We replace worn or damaged screws with suitable roofing fasteners to help maintain secure roof sheeting and reduce the risk of water entry

Minor Roofing Repairs

Address common roofing issues before they develop into more significant problems. Our minor roofing repairs include replacing flashings, sealing localised leaks, treating surface rust where suitable and repairing other accessible roofing defects.

Roofing Sheet Replacement

We replace damaged or deteriorated roofing sheets on carports, pergolas, verandahs and other smaller structures. We also undertake partial roof sheet replacements where practical, helping extend the life of your existing roof without the cost of a complete replacement.

Do you need to be licenced for roofing and gutter repairs

QHA Handyman is a registered QBCC licence holder and fully insured.

QBCC’s metal fascias and gutters licence class covers fabricating and installing rainwater goods including, and associated with, metal fascias and gutters, and fabricating and installing external flashings and associated soffits, fascias and gutters. The broader roof and wall cladding class covers installing roof cladding, fabricating and installing rainwater goods, flashing penetrations through roofs and walls, designing, fabricating and installing external flashings and associated soffits and fascias, designing roof drainage components, and refurbishing and maintaining roofs.

More generally, QBCC requires a licence for building work valued over $3,300, and a separate set of work requires the relevant licence at any value at all, including drainage, plumbing and drainage, and gas fitting. That is the reason roof drainage deserves more care than a generic handyman job.

What are eaves and soffits?

Eaves are the underside of the roof overhang, and the sheeting there is usually the first place interior water damage becomes visible. Sagging, staining, bubbling or sheets dropping at the edges almost always means water is getting in above, either through a failed fascia, a blocked or overflowing gutter, or a roof leak further up.

Eaves also matter for what gets into your roof. Gaps where sheeting has dropped or vents have failed are a standing invitation to birds, possums, rodents and wasps, and evicting a possum from a roof cavity is a considerably bigger job than closing the gap was.

We replace eaves and soffit sheeting, repair or replace the framing behind it where it has been affected, and make sure ventilation is right to prevent moisture problems.

How long do gutter and roof repairs take?

A single downpipe or a short section of guttering or fascia is often a same-day job. A full run of fascia, guttering and eaves on a house takes longer and depends on access, height and weather. We give you a realistic timeframe with the quote.

How do I know If my Gutters need to be replaced?

Common signs include visible rust, persistent leaks, sagging sections, or frequent blockages. We will provide honest guidance during our free site inspection.
